AFGRI CORPORATE AFFAIRS

Corporate Affairs is a key strategic function that contributes to AFGRI’s bottom line and enhances shareholder value. It does so by developing strategies in the context of sustainability accounting and reporting. In the case of AFGRI, sustainability accounting and reporting also includes environmental and social performance.

The key issues which are being addressed are:

  • To identify key stakeholders (political, business, community leaders and organisation) and develop healthy relationships with them.
  • Building and maintaining strategic networks in order to reinforce the Group’s position as the leading agri business in Africa. This is achieved by representing the Group at forums, conferences and meetings relevant to legislative matters. Corporate Affairs also acts as a liaison on behalf of the CEO at events related to the Group’s services to external stakeholders.
  • Develop strategic priority projects for Corporate Social Investment.
  • Compilation of the annual AFGRI Sustainability report.
  • BEE rating
  • Participation on the JSE SRI Index
